10/10
Waking up to that stunning view every morning was unreal. The room was solid, with a cute balcony and hammock—totally vibing. The food? Man, the fish in coconut sauce was a game-changer. Staff were super chill and helpful. Just the road to get there was a rocky ride. Worth it, though, for the greenery!

Ideal for quiet seekers
The views from the room are just stunning man, especially with the balcony and hammock. Had an awesome breakfast that was copious and I gotta say the staff was super friendly, they really made me feel taken care of, especially that one waitress who was just incredible.
It wasn't exactly cheap, but honestly it was acceptable for what you get.

The hotel guide Wilfred took us on a great tour!
My experience was marred by the lack of communication before arrival. I had a difficult time getting the necessary information, making my planning frustrating. Additionally, the limited dining choices at the hotel left us wanting more variety.

Staying at Altos de Cano Hondo was a unique experience. The architecture caught my eye immediately, blending beautifully with the natural surroundings. My room offered a spectacular view of the breathtaking Parque Los Haitises, making mornings feel serene and peaceful. I have to shout out the food, especially the fish in coconut sauce – a culinary delight! Also, the hotel guide, Wilfred, made our stay memorable with an engaging kayaking tour and a fascinating hike through the jungle. On the downside, the road leading to the hotel is quite rough, and a bit of sound traveled from the neighboring rooms. The receptionist, Bernard, came across as loud and disrespectful, which put a damper on my arrival. Despite these hiccups, the natural pools and the stunning views made the positives outweigh the negatives for me.
